Grandfather's (James Senior's) Military Record



Grandfather joined The Scots Guards on 15 May 1894
He was at the time in the 3rd Lanarkshire Volunteer Rifles
(the Volunteers created Third Lanark Football Club)



He was in service from 15 May 1894 until 14 May 1918 (24 years)

He was discharged "no longer physically fit for war service"
He had a cardiac dilatation (not caused by military service)

He was awarded a Long Service & Good Conduct Medal



According to his medical Grandfather :-
was 22 years 2 months old
was 6 feet tall
weighed 136 lbs
had brown eyes and brown hair

He had a right upper centre incisor tooth missing and
he had a scar on the left side middle of his back
